Height : 18 cm.
The quantity of the branches are decreased. The shimpaku is thinned out by cutting, and plucking. Also wiring of the branches has been part of the training the last two years. The trunk is more vissible now.
November 2001

Height : 17 cm.
Here is the result. The proposed pot ; a blue "Kohzan" Lapis Lazuli rectangle with cloud feet (ed. - An interesting choice!), is potted with the now more refined shimpaku-juniper.
March 2001

Height : 19 cm.
The shimpaku is repotted and an unnecessary branch is removed by air-layering.
April 1997

Height : 17 cm.
In preparation for repotting and restyling, two pots are selected as possible choices. Each pot was placed in front of the tree for evaluation. The first was a a Ryuen unglazed pot with cloud feet, and this was the chosen for the new future of the tree. (See top picture).

This shohin-bonsai was purchased in November 1996.
This material was created by airlayering, and had a very good jin and fine proportions.
