Happy New Year 2011

I wish you all a prosperous and happy new year 2011.

My plans for the year to come is another trip to Japan in the summer. I look forward to this adventure exploring bonsai and Japanese gardens with two friends of mine. Also at the old farm-house were we live I will be busy the coming year. A new study room for bonsai is planned, and along with other scheduled tasks it will slowly be realised through the next year or two. Hopefully it will be ready for bonsai exhibition and workshops in 2012. Maybe I will need a year more, because other priorities also comes in.

But first of all I look forward to see Tomohiro Masumi performing workshops and demos with Shohin-bonsai at the Danish Bonsai Society annual show in May. this is the 30 year anniversary of the association, and hopefully it will be a great success.

      Hi Raleigh Wills

The Shohin-bonsai on the poster is a Japanese Beautyberry, Murasaki Shikibu. It is a tropical plant, not suitable for bonsai when leaves are present, but grown as Shohin-bonsai for the berries.
The size and age of this Shohin I do not know, but is not larger than the 20 cm/8 inches.

      Regards
