Flow and balance

The flow between the items used in both the normal bonsai display (with or without a scroll included) is of utmost importance. As seen in the examples flow and counterbalance are essential to make a harmonic and well balanced display. The items have to have a more or less implied flow and direction towards each other to balance the items.

A classic display making use of a bonsai, accent and scroll painting. The bonsai has a clear direction both towards the scroll and the accent. The accent is working as counter balance both to the main object, the bonsai, and the scroll.
