Oh, what a pain, I wondered what happened. On the point about importing there is an American in Japan Adam Jones who owns treehouse bonsai. He has quarantine facilities for trees from Japan. It is also his intention that if you want to go and work on your chosen tree in Japan you can. Might try that when I finally get the chance to go to Japan. Just search treehouse bonsai,
