Late winter spring signs
Spring is not here yet, but the buds on the Shohin shows signs already on coming growth. Buds are swelling here in the last winter month (officially), and mild weather is here at the moment. Still to early to move bonsai from their shelter in the greenhouse in to the garden and benches. I always put them out early though, when more stable and mild weather is present, to harden of the buds before spring really starts. This is to secure that the leaves do not develop to early and that they are hardened off to cope with late spring cold nights and sun, that may harm the leafs.
Also some trees needs to be kept back in development of flowers to be ready for a late spring exhibition. The cold and semi shade will help the timing of this too. Opposite, if faster development is needed, placing the bonsai back in a greenhouse will speed processes up.
