ParticipantSuper show, lots of people I know to speak too. Trees were fantastic. Very crowded early and most of the day. Lots of traders. I bought a nice shohin Cork Bark Elm, and a Japanese Rose shohin size. Well worth the trip. I will take pics of these two and post soon.

ParticipantYes, they are protected, although it is cold but not frosty at the moment.

ParticipantThe show was very good. They had a problem with the lights so in places the light was poor, but the trees were excellent. I collected a pot made for me for the small hawthorn I got last year, I am going to re pot next weekend.
It was very busy from the start, it is a pity they cannot find a bigger hall! It was good to meet Graham Walker as well. He also had a tree in.
Here is my Scots Pine

ParticipantAlso vicious I was stabbed a few times until I had cut the thorns off.

Participantit is, I have had this tree flower anytime from January to March. I took it indoors to try to force it but should have taken it in two days earlier. We have a meeting in two weeks so it might be still in flower, fingers crossed.

ParticipantBut you must remember that it is only mid February and still winter! It can change in a day, we are a way off spring yet.

ParticipantYes, it has been a nice day, sunny afternoon, I am doing a re pot on Thursday at club workshop, so I will miss the live stream again, but I can watch it Friday instead. Then the following Saturday, 25th I will do some more re potting at our workshop.

ParticipantReaching over to get the ones at the back! I went around with the hose today did them all. We have no rain for at least three weeks, and it was up to 12C today and sunny.

ParticipantOk, David, well I am going to start re potting soon, I am in the south, north Dorset it is mild at the moment but can still get cold. I am going to leave the ones under cover for a few more weeks yet. Problem is I am having to water more and they are packed in close together.
Geoff Hobson
ParticipantI always put mine on the ground, out of the wind as well as warmer that up. I put my smaller trees and some others like Trident and Olive under open cover.
It does depend also on where you are in Britain as there is a big difference south to north.

ParticipantThere was a really good shohin I think it was a Trdent which started at more than I had in my pocket and went on to finish at £420 I would have been tempted if I had the cash with me.
Geoff Hobson
ParticipantYes, it was so mild for about ten days, tonight could be a frost, but tomorrow night will be. I am going to cover up with fleece.
Geoff Hobson
ParticipantYes, lot of covid after though, not me. I am looking forward to the Bonsai Live show in Telford too, going for both days,
