The bonsai year soon ends and then a new beginning

Bonsai have filled a lot this year as it has done for several years. A lot of friends around the world make the world small and comforting in these challenging times in my part of the world. Denmark is still as safe a country as it can be, but we feel the same as we did when I was a kid when the Cold War was around. Luckily bonsai knows nothing about all of this and that is a comfort.

I have travelled some as usual and been busy doing the online bonsai teaching and I hope you are inspired by the many videos and Live Q&A done throughout the season.

The Shohin book in 2025

Shohin bonsai is as popular as ever before, and I hope my third book published around easter time will be received as well as the earlier books. I have put much effort into it so it can stand on the shoulders of the previous but be its very own and add even more to the subject of the smallest bonsai.

The revisit to Dragon Bonsai in Wales is on the list, and of course a visit to the Trophy. What else comes up is always exciting to see.

Because of health issues in my near family, I have restricted my travels so I had to politely reject some promising journeys abroad at long distances. I hope to return if possible in the future. Something that also takes out some energy in daily life.

2024 recap

One of the highlights of 2024 was a great trip to Australia. A great event and so well received by the many visitors and students taking part. Marija Hajdic from Croatia and I enjoyed the friendliness and enthusiasm we met all over.

A special thank you to John Paton for hosting me and Samuel Thompson and Leigh Taafe taking so great care of us.

The guys from Wales are a must-do thing for me. Dragon Bonsai regular visit in spring with workshops and fun is a must-do I enjoy tremendously.

The Shohin Bonsai book did take a few heartbeats from me when my steady French publisher suddenly closed down all book publishing after I had delivered a full manuscript and pictures earlier. I thank Heike from Bonsai Art Germany for immediately taking over the publishing, but of course this push the publication date. But spring (Easter time) seems realistic now for a third and final book about Shohin Bonsai from my hand.

I am sure I have forgotten something here, but I will keep it short and hope you have enjoyed your bonsai year and that we will share the joy of bonsai also in 2025.

A challenging year this one, but also full of good vibes.

Thursday a new video is up for members, and then I will close for two weeks, so we can enjoy Christmas time and the New Year. Thanks for your support in 2024.
