Bending trunks. Is it possible?
Bending trunks or thick branches demands some special techniques; in this lecture, I show you how to manage that.
This technique isn’t for any tree; therefore, it is shown on a species that tolerates this kind of work. Junipers are flexible to a certain point and because of the way they grow their live veins, it’s possible to make drastic styling if done correctly. Dig into the advanced technique of splitting a trunk and bending it.
The technique shown is mastered by Masahiko Kimura and can be transferred to smaller trees too as shown in this weeks lecture.
There always is a risk when doing drastic styling, but with the right precautions and care it is possible.
In this lecture you will learn to bend a trunk by splitting it and change the style of small Shohin bonsai. This technique can be transferred to branches on bigger Junipers as well.
